Archers

The Normans had many archers, while the Saxons appear to have had few.

Archers had wooden bows made from a single piece of wood, similar to a longbow .  Many of the bows were probably the height of a man.

They could easily annoy the enemy and cause lots of damage, even (perhaps) killing a King!
